Tube & Link Roller Shutters
Product Description
Larger tube and link shutters are sometimes used over shops – a single-phase tubular motor typically powers these. However, as most of this style of shutter is used in small areas, a manual method of operation will usually be ideal.
Ideal Uses
- Bars
- Counters
- Receptions
- Shop fronts
Technical Specifications
Curtain
The curtain is made from aluminium tubes and links arranged in a brick bond pattern. Our usual mesh size is 230 x 70mm. Internal horizontal rods are manufactured from 8mm diameter round bar and pinned at each end to prevent lateral movement.
Guides
The side guides are formed from 38 x 29mm extruded aluminium channels and prepared for fixing to the opening structure. Fixed and intermediate guides 90°, 135°, 180° versions are available.
End Plates
Manufactured from mild steel to a suitable thickness relative to door size and supplied with angles for fixing to the structure.
Finish
Generally galvanized. Any non-galvanized plates are prime painted. Customers can choose to have a powder coating of almost any colour as an additional extra.
Operation
Smaller shutters tend to be controlled by 240-volt single-phase tubular motors. Adjustable limit switches are incorporated to stop the shutter at the end of each travel. Standard controls are open/close/stop buttons for geared motors and rocket switches on single-phase motors. A safety break is incorporated in line with current Health and Safety legislation.
