Our twin skin steel shutters are the most effective way to secure an opening and/or compartmentalise against a spreading fire. Unlike single skin fire shutters, this model provides incredible radiant heat protection. To put this into perspective, normally if a fire was raging at 1200°C on the other side of a standard fire shutter you wouldn’t be able to stand within 6 metres of the opening. However, due to the FR-INS4H’s unique construction, the radiant heat levels around the roller shutter door drop from 65kw sq metre to an incredible 2.7 kw sq metre. The FR-INS4H also offers a 20dB sound reduction value meaning they are good to use in kitchens where the room next door may also used for meetings or exhibitions.
These fire-rated doors are fitted with safety brakes, coupled with ‘drive ratio control’, in order to manage controlled descents. Furthermore, we can incorporate one of our interface panels so that the roller shutter closes automatically when the fire alarm is set off.
